Last night was a great ending to the 5FilmsProject as we put the final touches on Matter of Time. It’s been a great ride working on these projects and seeing the end result is something many of us are waiting for. To look at the connections that have been made in this process shoes many of us how open the industry is in Philadelphia and how there are connections to be made around every corner.

The beauty of life is often we partake our dreams and they lead us to bigger pastures. Last week I was in the mist of the meeting of the minds with the talented Donna Griggs and Keith Walker as we discussed business in Philadelphia theater. As it can be said about this many artist here have shown that they are far more then what people see as poets,singers,comedians, and hip hop artist having branched into theater both film and live allowing people to see there is so much more that each has to offer. What takes me even more is how philly seems to be evolving into the new Hollywood and Broadway in its own right. Seeing talents I know doing what they do has been a treat and being part of this mix makes me even feel the future is open for us all.
So I got the chance to now take my next step and start hitting New York with cast members from Underground Episodes and I must say I am anxious as all. Looking forward to the busy moments and meeting people in New York but more then that seeing the cast perform pieces from the play to an NY audience to me is great as they begin a journey outside of our city.
Happy 2015 everyone and as it pushes forward Run Boy Run Production is moving at a pace to keep up with the changes. As you all know the modem ears of RBRPROD are involved in many different fields of arts and entertainment. With members Terrance Jones forming DDG as they assist in reinventing artist in Philadelphia and helping them to get to that next level and Brittany Mckeithan acting in film and Loreal Wynn utilizing her time forming Will2Wynn non profit organization and Tyrone Harrison taking his InFlight to another level beyond visuals of a camera,each member are doing whats necessary to bring 2015 a different element.
It all begins with a thought a moment an idea that is made to evolve into a creation on paper with a pen or pencil or scripted on a phone, tablet or computer in transition. One thing for sure,creation is driven from the imagination and made to be within the existence.
The month of September proved to be a challenge but we are glad to say we had two sold out performances. We were all in a state of shock when numbers rolled in that we sold out and this was before the first show even started but it proved to us that we can make it in the theater if we so choose.
Although these are few we have had great moments in our rehearsal sessions. For many of the cast members this was the first time working together as it was a blend of individuals from theater, performing arts poetry and movie acting it would prove to be a place to challenge the will to learn the arts. Asa writer it was seeing how many of the members took to my words allowed themselves to take on a character and accept the challenge in theater that they haven’t had before. With the movement of time, many of the cast members began working together and formed a bond that proved to be worth the weight as it helped to enhance some of the members acting and allowed them to see the diversity within them selves as actors.
In the end it proved to b the challenge that made each one better…
As men often we are looked at as the stronger sex able to handle all obstacles and take any form of pain that comes our way. Truth be told we are no different from a woman. We want to be loved?”,understood, appreciated and heard. However in relationships we aren’t supposed to show who we really are even if ones mate says that you can be yourself completely. Funny moments happen when a man finally let’s his guard down to his mate often he is met with words like “man up,” “be a real man,” but what’s being missed is that he is and with the assumption that he can finally open up to someone he then reverts back into his shell and becomes the tortes that life only wants to acknowledge. So when you have that moment to finally heT his inner voice see his inner soul let it be ok for it will be a new beginning and the beginning of a prosperous relationship. LOVE

There is nothing worse then the fear and loss of a child. In many cases we never hear the stories of these children but we do see there faces on Facebook or on poles in the inner city but not on the news. The sad thing about media is it can hold a bias to what it shows and over the years those stories of missing minority children had fallen short. With that being said, it is up to us the everyday person to continue putting out Amber alerts in our own way till we see complete change in this missing news view…
