All he wanted was acceptance
All she wanted was acceptance
All they deserved was acceptance
All they cared for was love
All they wanted was love
All they got was bruises
From the many that couldn’t understand
All they got were bruises
Submitted in ink saying words like abomination
All they felt was pain
Injected into everyday eye contact
that had no reason to give a negative
All they received was shunning
Of those that swore they understood biblical scriptures but never took the time to actually read the script
All they cared for was acceptance
In the form of an embrace embedded in a hug that in many ways managed to remove the bruises and pain
All she needs is your love
Her as a person
Her as a woman
Her as she is
Not what you want her to be
But as a person
So remember this is all she needs..

HI. I’m looking for Allen Clark or Antoine Stroma. I am Janine Lieberman. I met them by phone a couple years ago when I was working with Stagecrafters in Chestnut Hill. They were seeking a theater, a physical home, to do their works. I’m working with Old Academy Players in East Falls now and we are looking to welcome and include the African American aesthetic beyond participating actors into directors, producers, set artists, etc.
Specifically, coming up is Wedding Band by Alice Childress in early November. We invite your members to check the site under Get Involved/Auditions, for character Nelson Green. He’s a young man in the military, big and strongly built. The time is 1918. and the place is South Carolina.
Directing are Vanessa Ballard and Carla Childs.
Please call me, Janine, at 707-621-3741.

Hello Janine
Sorry in being so late at getting this (welcome the pandemic). We are still looking for a permanent home and would love to talk about things if offer is still on the table.
